About Us
VONNE are the Voluntary Organisations' Network North East. We were set up to facilitate links between voluntary and community groups and other relevant bodies, and to promote the role and potential of the sector in regional matters. Visit the VONNE website for more information about our work. As a response to the ChangeUp programme and Government Office North East, VONNE commissioned research into the needs of the Voluntary and Community Sector in each of the four sub regions and also on a regional level. Research in the region highlighted better signposting as necessary to record who does what and where groups should go for particular services. From this research a development plan was drawn up with recommendation for the development of a mechanism for signposting between infrastructure organisations at regional level. VONNE commissioned Community Knowledge to lead a project to collect data and develop an online directory of regional services. Community Knowledge, while co-ordinating the project, was directly responsible for providing the source data for the project. onebestway design were commissioned to develop the directory and other online content. Initial research clearly identified the need to clarify the signposting needs and identify exactly what information should be shared. The directory is web-based and reliant on regular monitoring to ensure it is up to date. Use the search box to find voluntary and community sector organisations in the North East. |
